Description of the IBM9729 LRC & I/O Card Status Information

The operational parameters of each card is obtained by contacting 
the SNMP subagent that manages the IBM9729 device containing the
card.



FIELDS::
========

Laser Receiver & I/O Card Installed: 
------------------------------------
This tells us if the Laser-Receiver card is installed i.e. YES or NO. 
If the value of this parameter is NO,then all the other card 
parameters below are are not considered to be accurate, barring the 
"Remote Device" parameter. It is a Read-Only field. 

I/O Card Input Light: 
---------------------
This parameter tells us if the I/O card is receiving input from the 
device or communication link associated with this card. The value is 
one of PRESENT or ABSENT ( LOSS OF LIGHT ). It is a Read-Only field.

Link Light: 
-----------
If the Laser-Receiver card detects received light from multiplexed 
fiber optic link attached to the IBM9729 device, this parameter has 
a value DETECTED, else NOT DETECTED. It is a Read-Only field.

Laser Output: 
-------------
This parameter's value is NORMAL if the Laser-Receiver card's laser 
output is at the nominal value, else it is REACHING END OF LIFE. This 
means that it is essential to have the card replaced as soon as poss-
ible. It is a Read-Only field. If the value is REACHING END OF LIFE,
contact IBM Customer Support.

Laser Drive: 
------------
This parameter has a value FAILED if the Laser-Receiver card's laser 
drive has been raised too far in excess of the nominal value with in-
sufficient laser output; else it has a value OK. It is a Read-Only 
field. If the value is FAILED, contact IBM Customer Support.

Input Light Source/Destination:
-------------------------------
The selection name of the input light source/destination device to 
which the I/O card is connected. This value is updated automatically 
when the card is associated with a particular device. The default value 
is "NONE". It is a Read-Only field.
